Prenatal Massage & Bodywork with me

Wondering what a prenatal massage & bodywork session with me is like? I’ve got you covered. This explains how I work and what my goals are during a prenatal session. A prenatal session with me might be a bit different than you expect - or from what you have experienced before. Here’s how.

During your prenatal session with me I will use many techniques I have learned over the years for pregnancy care including Abdominal Therapy, Integral Touch of Birth, Body Ready Method and Spinning Babies® techniques. I combine the many tools and methods I have learned to achieve balance in the body, improved alignment of pelvic bones and uterus, comfort for parent and baby, optimal fetal positioning, and increased efficiency of labor and birth. I value finesse, balance, alignment and homeostasis as tools for improving parental and fetal well-being.

Your session time with me includes assessment, bodywork, education on movement and alignment, and teaching of self-care massage for pregnancy. Initial sessions require two to three hours so that I may provide you with many of these tools right from the start. Follow up sessions may be one to two hours, whichever you prefer, and will accommodate the goals we are working to achieve. Some of the bodywork and education I do may have you standing and clothed while some bodywork is done on the table and unclothed to your comfort level. Depending on the issues you are experiencing at the time, one session could vary greatly from the next.

Most times sessions will not include a full body massage, but will address the issues and areas which you and I feel are most in need of attention to achieve the goals of balance and comfort. If a full body, nurturing session is what you know your body and spirit are calling for at the time of your session, I am happy to do what you feel is best and will always rely upon your innate wisdom to guide us. Just let me know.

If you have any questions which I have not answered here, please feel free to be in touch. I would love to chat with you!

Blessings,
Rebecca
