Things to know when working with me

There are a few things I want you to know about working with me. If you have been wondering…

  1. I don’t have judgements about what you share with me or your body. I am here to support and not to judge. I listen carefully to your health and personal history. I value what you share with me about how you feel and what your goals are. I pay attention when you tell me what works and doesn’t work for you. I study the way you hold yourself, the tension in your tissues, and the way your muscles, skin and fascia move or don't move. I observe the position of muscles, bony structures and organs with my eyes and under my hands. I don't take note of what your body looks like but rather what it says to you and to me in its wisdom. I listen with ears, and heart and hands. I value what you tell me about your body, your journey, your dreams, and your life. That's all and that's everything.

  2. When we have a bodywork session I won’t talk unless you want me to or I need to check in with you. I have had the experience where my practitioner talked through my entire session and I did not like it. I just wanted to tune into how my body and mind were receiving the work and be in the moment. Many other people feel the same way. If you don't, and you initiate conversation, then I am more than happy to talk with you during your bodywork session. If you want to be quiet and relax then I am great with that too. I always assume that my clients like quiet peacefulness unless they tell me differently. It's ok not to talk to me while you have bodywork - I will not be offended and your comfort is my main priority. The only time I will initiate conversation while you are on my table is to get feedback or input pertaining to comfort or effectiveness. Everything else can wait until after your time on the table.

  3. For a therapist who works with reproductive issues and health there is NEVER TMI. Really. I want you to share your complete health history, what is happening for you right now and anything else you want to talk about or feel is important for me to know. What your periods, bleeding, cramping, and PMS symptoms are like? YES x 100. What your cervical mucus looked like, and what your cervical position is, if applicable? yes. Emotional challenges? - yes - if you feel comfortable. Dreams regarding your life and family? yes. It all matters. I want to have the complete picture so we can work together to improve your reproductive and whole-person health, and help you achieve your goals in the loveliest and most effective way we can. So let's talk, and don't make it short if you don’t want to. I'm listening.

That’s not everything, so feel free to contact me if you have questions about me, the work I do, or if you just want to have a conversation and see if we are a good fit. That’s ok too. I look forward to chatting with you!

    Blessings,
    Rebecca
